Where QSENSATO begins

Building from the ground up, fuelled by bold vision.

Our Origins

QSENSATO was founded in 2024 to exploit our out-of-the-box approach to vapor cell fabrication and to address the need for integrated atomic quantum sensors.

Before our founding, several pivotal developments paved the way for our establishment. Our laser-written vapor cell technology was born from a collaboration between the Milan branch of CNR-IFN and the Institute of Photonic Sciences in Barcelona (ICFO). The project produced key scientific outputs which served as the basis for our patented technology.

Following a successful pre-seed funding round, we entered our incubation phase, enabling us to expand our team and launch our business operations.

In early 2025, we officially commenced business activities and began rapid prototyping of our quantum sensing technology, marking an exciting new chapter in our company’s development.

2020
The idea was born

Together with ICFO and CNR-IFN the original research project was launched.

2022
The laser written vapor cell technology was first reported on

This proof-of-principle vapor cell prototype showed the promise in our novel fabriaction in process capable of producing versatile vapor cells suitable for spectroscopy and magnetometry applications.

2024
The second generation prototype was reported on

In this iteration of the LWVC the technology greatly improved and produced a LWVC for magnetometry applications capable of measuring tiny magnetic fields in the picotesla regime.

2024
A patent for the technology is granted

In the EU, US and extended to China.

Our Mission: bridging the gap between quantum sensing and integrated photonic

QSENSATO is advancing precision measurement through innovative integrated atomic-phonic chips designed for industries from biomedical to space and defence.

At QSENSATO, we are developing the next-generation of integrated atomic quantum sensors across multiple industries. Our patented technology serves multiple industry sectors as biomedical, space and defence, geophysics, remote sensing, automotive and materials analysis.

From Innovation to Implementation

We are driving the rapid prototyping of laser-written vapor cells towards wafer-scale fabrication. These components enable ultra-precise measurements of magnetic fields, radio frequency electric fields, time/frequency standards, and inertial sensors – all customisable to your specific requirements. Our outlook includes integrating our quantum technology with photonic components to create atomic-photonic chips, with plans to expand to complete sensing solutions that set new standards for measurement precision.
